Case Study - Bovis Lend Lease

About Bovis

Bovis Lend Lease is one of the world’s leading project management and construction companies operating in more than 30 countries worldwide and employing over 8,000 people. Bovis Lend Lease is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lend Lease Corporation.

CR and Bovis

“The time is not far off when companies will have to justify their worth to society, with greater emphasis placed on environmental and social impacts than straight economics.” Dick Dusseldorp Lend Lease Founder, 1973

Why CR?

As Bovis has its roots going back over one hundred years and with strong family influence it was inevitable that CSR would come to play its part. Many family oriented businesses are strong on community and employee engagement activities and Bovis has simply extended the core values that underpin that sense of family into today’s environmental and social pressures.

CR in practice

Bovis recently accredited winning a £2.4 billion schools building contract to their sustainability approach. Head of Supply Chain Management Nigel McKay was quoted saying “We won that bid based on the supply chain management and diversity policies because we had all of this in place and could demonstrate it.” Bovis has five sustainability targets; carbon reduction, reduction of waste, responsibly-sourced materials, community which leads into diversity and the other is sustainable design.

The Benefits

A £2.4 billon contract.
