What can Considerate Constructors Scheme do for you?

This post has been written by Considerate Constructors Scheme and explains what they do and how they can benefit your business. They are also full Constructionline partners, who offer a 10% discount for our members.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a non-profit-making, independent organisation founded in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image.

Construction sites and companies voluntarily register with the Scheme and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice. The Code commits those sites and companies registered with the Scheme to care about appearance, respect the community, protect the environment, secure everyone’s safety and value their workforce.

The Scheme is concerned about any area of construction activity that may have a direct or indirect impact on the image of the industry as a whole. The main areas of concern fall into three categories: the general public, the workforce and the environment.

The Scheme’s Company Registration is open to construction companies of all types and sizes, including large Main Contractors undertaking short duration work, specialist contractors, those who work in supply chain, domestic contractors and individual tradesman.

Supplier Registration is another type of registration which allows any company supplying goods or materials to the construction industry to be a part of the Scheme and enjoy the benefits of registration.

There are many benefits to registering with the Scheme, including:

  • Membership of the nationally recognised Scheme endorsed by local authorities, the Government, Main Contractors and major industry clients.
  • Gaining a competitive edge with prospective clients by demonstrating a commitment to the highest standards.
  • Considerate Constructors Scheme branding and recognition.
  • Independent assessment of your company and sites by experienced industry professionals.
  • A means by which you can assess and benchmark your own performance and strive for development and improvement.
  • The possibility of winning National Awards.

Companies can register with the Scheme at any time and begin promoting their efforts in improving the image of construction.
