Constructionline has urged the construction industry to consider procurement efficiencies to help deliver the Government's £9bn annual efficiency savings target.
Speaking at a major event to showcase the benefits of Constructionline in London (12th May), sales and marketing director Philip Prince said that the duplication of pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) is a major cost to the public sector and contractors alike in terms of adminstration and man hours.
Philip also argued that - with Government pledging billions of pounds to construction projects in its latest budget - the public sector is set to play a key role in the industry's development over the next few years.
Constructionline has launched a series of events to promote a major new service enhancements this month.
The new look service includes a free online tender advertising system that will provide contractors with real time information on new work - this is part of Constructionline's ongoing push to support small and medium sized contractors
