BAFE is the independent third party approvals organisation ensuring quality for the Fire Protection Industry with over 700 companies registered to their schemes. BAFE is supported by Government agencies, certification bodies and Trade Associations. For all those responsible for specifying Fire protection products, BAFE adopted Third Party Certification schemes provide the vital reassurance that the services being specified or bought are effective, reliable and competently maintained. Main schemes are for; fire alarms and emergency lighting providers and companies who maintain portable fire extinguishers.
An accreditation with a BAFE scheme will be seen as adequate evidence for inclusion in specific Constructionline work categories.
The Specialist Engineering Contractors' (SEC) Group exists to raise awareness, especially among clients and their professional advisers, of the importance of specialist engineering to the overall construction industry, and to promote productivity, profitability and best practice throughout the process.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is the national initiative, set up by the construction industry, to improve its image.
Sites and companies that register with the Scheme sign up and are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.
The Scheme is concerned about any area of construction activity that may have a direct or indirect impact on the image of the industry as a whole. The main areas of concern fall into three main categories: the environment, the workforce and the general public.

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) is the representative forum for the professional bodies, research organisations and specialist business associations in the construction industry.
In addition, CIC represents the views of the higher level of the industry (professional, managerial and technical) in ConstructionSkills – the Sector Skills Council for construction. ConstructionSkills is a partnership between CIC, CITB-ConstructionSkills and CITB Northern Ireland.
The NFB represents some 1,500 builders and contractors across England and Wales. In addition to providing specialist advice and business services, the Federation, with a network of seven regional offices, lobbies local, national and European government on a range of issues to sustain positive trading conditions for members.
CECA promotes the positive contribution that the civil engineering industry makes to the nation. The Industry is an integral part of the economy and CECA members construct and maintain national infrastructure which is fundamental to both the social and economic needs of the country.
Constructing Excellence is the single organisation charged with driving the change agenda in construction. It exists to improve industry performance in order to produce a better built environment. It is a cross-sector, cross-supply chain, member led organisation operating for the good of industry and its stakeholders.
CCI provides knowledge capital to the construction sector through research, advisory, consultancy and grant funded projects. The work of CCI often addresses a specific construction requirement, either in supply or demand, leading to increased understanding and development of innovation and best practice. Its clients typically include government departments, regional development agencies, local authorities, private developers, contractors, supply chains and SME’s.
CIAPS supports public and private construction clients, prime contractors and sub-contractors it improve communication and integrated working throughout supply chains. CIAPS works for the wider adoption of best practices and meets the requirements of the Strategic Forum's Construction Commitments.
