Step 3: Speak to your target buyers
Presenting your business to local buyers
Before speaking buyers, it is important that you understand the professional purchasing process (covered in step one).
Networking is a great way for SMEs to develop personal relationships with public sector buyers, and what better place to start than with Constructionline Meet the Buyer Events. Details of upcoming events can be found on our news & events page.
When speaking to buyers, remember to find out:
- How their procurement process works, i.e. do they trade electronically, what quality assurance standards they expect, and where they advertise contracts
- Which main contractors are responsible for their supply chain and what their contact details are
- When their framework expires and what you need to do to be considered for their new one
- How you can get on their approved list
"Time is incredibly valuable, so the 100 hours we save by using Constructionline frees up a substantial amount of resource for winning and completing work".
