The deal comes at a crucial time for the H&S industry as ISO 45001, a new standard calling for a more proactive approach to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), is set to replace the current BS OHSAS 18001 standard. The online tool is essentially an anonymous survey, which enables management to gain a better understanding of employees’ and suppliers’ attitudes and perceptions of H&S in key areas of its business. The Safety Climate Tool also offers benchmarks against HSL’s average and industry dataset. The software will also provide accurate next steps of how to improve identified aspects of weakness. “ISO 45001 standard being imminent, it will introduce the need for employee engagement and senior management commitment to demonstrate health and safety leadership and allow you to continuously improve. We are going to ensure your company is ready,” explains John Edmunds, Managing Director at Capita Supplier Assessment Services, Constructionline & Acclaim. “The Safety Climate Tool from HSL is the best way to begin this process.” “We’re looking forward to partnering with Supplier Assessment Services and their Acclaim business in order to drive further adoption of a tool that is critical for the future of H&S management”, says Mike Day, Commercial Director at Health and Safety Executive. “Supplier Assessment Services expertise in supporting SMEs, as well as big businesses with real time dynamic verified data across 45,000 suppliers and 8,000 buyers, made them the perfect partner for us.” The platform is available online now! What is SSIP? Our health and safety specialists, Acclaim, are certified to assess and award SSIP Deemed to Satisfy, which is then shown on the Constructionline platform.
