SSIP stands for Safety Schemes in Procurement. This is an umbrella organisation that reduces health and safety assessment duplication across projects.
Rather than being assessed by multiple health and safety schemes – which is not only time-consuming but also costly – SSIP helps simplify and streamline your construction procurement processes.
All Constructionline’s paid memberships come with SSIP through Once For All Health & Safety, helping you easily cut costs and remove duplication from your workloads.
Part of our parent company, Once For All, Once For All Health & Safety is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement. When you upgrade to a paid Constructionline membership, Once For All Health & Safety will undertake an online assessment of your health and safety documentation and work activities. This determines whether you have the right systems and processes in place, so project partners can know with certainty that you will fulfil your health and safety responsibilities to the highest possible standards.
Once For All Health & Safety is committed to improving health and safety standards across the UK, while reducing the duplication of paperwork in procurement. All Once For All Health & Safety SSIP assessments are undertaken by a designated health and safety team.
Endorsed by UKAS – one of only eight SSIP schemes in the UK to receive this accolade – the Once For All Health & Safety SSIP certificate means you can rest assured a project partner meets all the relevant health and safety requirements.
For suppliers, SSIP is increasingly becoming a prerequisite for many tenders – especially public sector contracts. An SSIP certificate illustrates that your health and safety documentation and processes has been reviewed by an independent assessor, and meets a defined standard.
Combined with the ability to save time and money, reduce duplication on assessments, and demonstrate to clients that health and safety is a primary concern, SSIP is recommended for all ambitious, forward-thinking businesses.
If you’re a client, SSIP shows you’re taking a comprehensive approach to health and safety standards for your project. You can better manage risk and streamline the procurement process for your supplier network, while freeing up time and cost to focus on the project-specific areas of the pre-qualification process.
