Marketplace brings together the UK’s largest community of construction industry suppliers and buyers to help them win more business. For suppliers, it offers them the chance to uncover both publicly available opportunities as well as unique opportunities from Constructionline buyers. And for buyers, it lets them target suppliers, using criteria not available on any other platform, to approach and gauge interest to build supply chains that meet specific needs of their customers, projects and organisation.
In construction, tenders refer to formal offers submitted by contractors to carry out specific projects. Construction tendering is the process where contractors submit these tenders for construction work in response to an invitation from construction businesses managing large building projects. The tendering process in construction involves evaluating these bids to select the most suitable contractor based on factors like price, quality, and experience. Available through our platform, Marketplace helps construction buyers and suppliers streamline and improve their construction tendering processes. In one place, users can find new and existing leads, publish and search for new projects, track responses, and connect with 200,000+ construction professionals.
We know that as a supplier in the construction industry you’re always looking for new business opportunities and, as the UK’s largest community of construction buyers and suppliers, we can help. We’re proud to be introducing Constructionline’s brand new service, Marketplace which has been designed specifically to help you promote your business and win more deals.
You’ll be able to easily search and set up alerts for:
And coming soon, receive notifications of unique opportunities from Constructionline buyers looking for your skillset to help them win new business and deliver current projects.
Marketplace is included with your standard Constructionline membership, saving you money over external services that aggregate public opportunities. However, if you decide Marketplace is something you don’t require our customer service team may be able to apply a discount to your account based on your turnover.
Yes, Marketplace will be part of your membership and will be part of your normal invoice cycle.
Anyone associated with winning work or finding work opportunities will find the Marketplace application useful
We search for new opportunities on a daily basis and post them as soon as they become available. You’ll be able to create multiple searches using differing criteria and save them. Toggling ‘notifications’ will allow you to be notified when we find new opportunities that meet those criteria so you never miss a new opportunity. This functionality won’t be available at the start of the Early Adopter program, but we are looking to add this in the next few weeks.
‘Favouriting’ an opportunity places it into your ‘My Favourites’ which is always located on the top right-hand side of Marketplace. You can favourite an opportunity by clicking the star on the right-hand side of the results page, or by clicking ‘Add to favourites’ from the detail page.
We take data feeds directly from the source to make sure they are as accurate and up to date as possible. For ‘Planning’ that includes over 400 UK planning authorities. For ‘Public’ we gather from OJEU/TED, Contract Finder and Find a Tender.
You can keep your searches as broad as you like by using simple keywords and using AND and OR to expand or reduce the results. If you want to tune your searches to make them more relevant to your business you can filter on
Yes, we include the status of the opportunity where it is presented to us by the original source. These include ‘Notice’, ‘Award’
Across the planning authorities, there are approximately 500,000 notices per year. Publicly listed contracts add around 170,000 per year.
Marketplace is a collaborative space where compliance, procurement and business development teams can work together and we would encourage you to add your colleagues to your account. To add users, you will need to be the Admin user for the account.
If the user has an account on the platform and has access to the Marketplace app, you can copy and paste the URL and pass it to your colleague. We are looking at future development to enable on-platform sharing of opportunities
Yes, you can see their details in the search result detail page and click through to the 3rd party portal providing the data.
We’re adding the ability for any buyer to target any supplier on the Constructionline platform with details of projects those suppliers may be interested in. This functionality will be delivered in the coming months.
CPV stands for the Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) and was designed by the European Union as a classification system for public procurement. CPV was established to standardise the terms used by contracting authorities to describe the subject of procurement contracts.
This approach has a number of key benefits. CPV codes help suppliers source business opportunities more efficiently and transparently. By registering to receive or searching for specific CPV codes, suppliers can find projects that best meet their capabilities.
Each CPV code is accompanied by a short description to give a brief insight into the types of work, supplies or services that a contract encompasses. While there is an extensive range of CPV codes, here are some examples for the construction industry:
