Home / Marketplace / Understanding the differences between our lead sources
Within the Opportunities Board, you can search for a variety of different construction leads.
We offer three premium sources featuring exclusive, openly advertised work packages (Invitations to Tender/ ITTs) and Expression of Interests (EOIs) — that you won’t find on any other lead platform. Alongside these, our UK-based research team curates targeted Market Intelligence leads. We also track public sources, such as planning applications and public sector contracts. While all of these provide excellent project opportunities, they naturally differ in the types of projects available and the level of competition you can expect.
Invitations to Tender (ITTs):
Invitations to Tender (ITTs) are live opportunities published by contractors seeking to expand their supply chain for specific projects. These opportunities outline key details such as the contractor’s requirements, the estimated value of the package, and the project location.
Contractors may issue ITTs when entering new geographic markets or when they need to enhance the quality of their supply chain for a particular project. This process allows contractors to identify and connect with suppliers who can meet their needs, helping to ensure the successful delivery of their projects.
Expressions of Interest (EOIs)
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are announcements issued by buying organisations to identify and attract additional supply chain partners. They are typically published ahead of a formal opportunity to help buyers find the strongest candidates in areas where their existing supply chain may be limited.
While EOIs are not always open, they offer a valuable chance for suppliers to connect with buyers early and potentially secure a place within their supply chain network.
Market Intelligence:
Market Intelligence provides information on construction projects across the UK. Market Intelligence focuses on larger projects, such as those in the commercial and industrial sectors, and provides detailed information on each project, including project size, location, and timelines.
Our dedicated, UK-based research team exclusively verifies these leads. By building strong relationships and speaking directly with buyers, the team confirms each project opportunity before adding it to the Opportunities Board.
Planning Applications:
Planning portals are online platforms that provide information on planning applications and building regulations across the UK. Planning portals cover a wide range of project sizes, from small residential projects to large commercial developments. Planning portals provide detailed information on each project, including project size, location, and planning requirements. Planning portals also allow businesses to search for opportunities based on specific criteria, such as location or project type.
Public tenders:
Public tenders are issued by government agencies and public sector organisations for a wide range of projects, from construction and infrastructure to IT and professional services. Public tenders may have more stringent requirements and a more formal bidding process than other sources of project opportunities. To be eligible to bid on public tenders, businesses must meet specific criteria, such as financial stability and experience in the relevant field.
While all three sources of project opportunities can be valuable for businesses, the type of project opportunities pursued will depend on business needs and resources. Market Intelligence may be more suitable for businesses looking to focus on larger projects, while planning portals may be more suitable for businesses looking to diversify their project portfolio. Public tenders may be more suitable for businesses with the resources and experience to navigate a more formal bidding process.
