What happened in Q2 within the UK construction market? 

Q2 UK Construction Market Report: London and North West leading the way for new opportunities 

Of the 849 projects published on Market Intelligence, collectively valued at £11 billion, it appears housing tenders are on the up for Q2. Housing tenders have 214 projects with circa £3 billion value, shortly followed by education with 194 projects with circa £1 billion value and offices with 101 projects with again, circa £1 billion value.

 

North West sees just as many projects published as London in Q2! 

Multiple projects were published across the UK, including 169 projects in London worth a total of £2 billion, and 121 projects in the North West totalling £2 billion. 

 

Construction on housing projects on the up 

Housing projects made up approximately 25% of Q2’s projects published on Market Intelligence: could this be an early sign of the UK construction industry working towards meeting Labour’s 1.5m housing target by 2029? 

London and North West lead the way for project value 

Results across the board are impressive, but London and the North West stand out with 169 and 121 projects respectively, with £2 billion worth of projects published in each region. 

For subcontractors based, or looking for construction work, in the North West, this could be a region to watch…
