Why Gold?  For Supply Chain to align to the Common Assessment Standard and Building Safety Act

Kevin Horner – Central Strategic Procurement Leader

“For Laing O’Rourke it is important for our supply chain prequalification to be standardised and aligned to our client and industry needs whilst promoting compliance associated with CAS and BSA interlinked with our procurement processes.”

Our Partnership with Constructionline

Our suppliers play a vital role in supporting our business activities, and our reputation depends on the quality of the services they deliver. For this reason, we work closely with Constructionline to help deliver quality and compliance to the Common Assessment Standard (CAS) with our supply chain partners. More information on this important standard can be found via the following link: Construction Pre-Qualification System – Build UK.

In essence CAS accreditation provides essential information for organisations to improve their procurement processes and ensure compliance via trusted accreditors. Laing O’Rourke have partnered with Constructionline as our primary intended route to onboard our suppliers and help them through the CAS verification process.

Why have Laing O'Rourke partnered with Constructionline?

We’ve partnered with Constructionline because we want to make the onboarding process as straightforward and effective as possible for our suppliers. Constructionline gives us and you a clear view of your accreditation status, so we can be sure that you’re ready to work with us at any time.

Having reviewed other providers and our own provision we felt Constructionline offered us the best overall solution. We have partnered with Constructionline to onboard our subcontractors and help them through the verification process to align with Common Assessment Standard and Building Safety Act.

What if I am already accredited with another CAS provider?

As part of our commitment to the CAS standard we do accept that you may choose or already be a member with another CAS provider and you can share this data with Laing O’Rourke. Laing O’Rourke will carry out a desktop assessment to verify supply chain member credentials.

Why is it important to remain approved (verified)?

You must ensure you nominate a responsible person to maintain your profile and ensure key information and documents (for example Insurance renewals) are regularly updated as otherwise you may quickly become unverified, and this could mean that you miss out on tender and project opportunities.
