Construction projects behind the rise There was a considerable rise in tenders available to private construction firms in Yorkshire, East Midlands and the South West. Yorkshire showed the greatest level of growth with a 42 per cent rise in public sector tenders in the construction sector, with East Midlands and the South West rising by 19 and 16 per cent respectively. Continued investment in the Northern Powerhouse in Yorkshire, High Speed 2 in East Midlands and a new campus for Northampton University in the South West are likely to be key drivers for the increase seen in these areas.
