Finding the right opportunities on Marketplace just got a lot easier.
We’ve made several improvements to the Opportunities Board on Marketplace to help you find and win work easier and faster, including clearer names for our exclusive opportunity lead sources.
We’ve rolled out 5 enhancements to the Opportunities Board that improve how you discover, search, and explore relevant work, meaning:
We’ve renamed our premium lead sources to Exclusive Leads. The next time you search the Opportunities Board, you’ll also notice the three types of exclusive opportunities are now displayed differently.
Not everyone is familiar with terms like “EOI”, “ITT” and “MI”, so we’ve replaced them with clearer, more familiar names that make it easier to understand the types of leads available on the platform.
What’s changed
What’s stayed the same
Previously on the Opportunities Board, you would have to set up individual alerts for the types of opportunities you’re interested in which was time consuming. Now, we have enhanced the saved search experience by allowing users to multi-select opportunity types and create one email alert with all the types selected.
How to multi-save searches on the Opportunities Board
Search for an opportunity, then click on Save search.
Select as many source types as you want -> set your alert preference.
For example, this saved search is for plumbing opportunities in London for early access, client insights and public sources.
Click on Save so it then appears on your main Dashboard for you to easily access in future.
This means you don’t have to set up individual alerts for the types of opportunities you’re interested in.
Search on the Opportunities Board now matches on the type of work involved, not just keywords. When you enter a search term, it’s mapped to the relevant Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) codes, the industry-standard classification for procurement work. These are then compared with the CPV codes each opportunity is tagged with, so the closest matches come first.
For example, a search for ‘roofing’ will now prioritise opportunities tagged with roofing CPV codes over a general refurbishment tender that only mentions roof inspections in passing.
Why it matters: You’ll see fewer opportunities overall, but a higher proportion will be relevant to your business, so you spend less time reviewing results and can decide faster which opportunities to pursue.
Via Exclusive Opportunities
You can now switch to a map view directly from the Opportunities Board search results. Rather than scrolling through a list, you can see where opportunities are plotted geographically as pins on an interactive map.
Nearby opportunities are grouped together with a count, and zooming in separates them so you can explore individual results. Clicking a single pin brings up the opportunity details, while clicking a cluster opens a scrollable sidebar listing all opportunities in that area. Any opportunity can be opened in full with a single click – no need to navigate away from the map.
You can toggle between the standard list view and map view at any point, so it’s easy to switch depending on how you prefer to work.
Why it matters: The map view makes it much easier to understand where work is concentrated and spot opportunities in areas you might not have thought to search for.
You can now search for opportunities within a set distance of a chosen location. Once you select a location in the search bar, a radius picker appears with options of 10, 25, 50, or 100 miles (or kilometres, depending on your community). Your results will then be limited to opportunities within that distance.
Alongside the new search functionality, the search bar itself has been redesigned: updated fonts, icons, and layout on both the landing and results pages make it cleaner and more intuitive to use. The location picker has also been improved. Under the hood, the system now ensures every opportunity has coordinates, so even those from sources that don’t provide a postcode can still be included in radius searches.
Why it matters: If your work is location-driven, radius searching gives you a simple, practical way to focus on opportunities close to where you operate.
