Building Safety requirement: How this affects verification statuses on the platform

Our latest update will see a change to the way the requirement called ‘Building Safety’ affects Gold and Platinum verification statuses for suppliers on our platform. 

As a result, suppliers will be required to take action to maintain a verified status.

What’s changing?

From the 10th of November, your Gold/Platinum verification status will be dependent on the Building Safety requirement. To maintain your Gold/Platinum verified status, the Building Safety requirement must be either: 

  • Verified, or
  • Verified Not Applicable

If the Building Safety requirement becomes Not Verified, your Gold/Platinum status will also be Not Verified. 

Why this change?

Top contractors from the UK construction industry have not only come together to sign an open letter about their changing construction supply chain requirements in line with the Building Safety Act, but to share an important video message about the building safety legislation; its impact on their supply chain members; and the wider community. 

Action required: What you need to do

  1. Go to the Building Safety requirement on your profile.
  2. Ensure it is either Verified or Verified – Not Applicable. A Verified – Not Applicable status is achieved by answering “No” to the first question. 

Please note: You may see other requirements titled “Building Safety Act -”. These are part of the Once For All Building Safety Act questions and do not affect your Gold/Platinum status. If the Building Safety Act is not relevant to your business, you can ignore these additional requirements.
